WKCT-AM began broadcasting on November 1, 1947 at 9:30 a.m. Paul Huddleston served as the first station manager and gave the first newscast at 12:15 p.m. Broadcasting at 1,000 watts, the station’s signal covered a 60-mile radius. The station now broadcasts at 5,000 watts during the day and 500 watts at night. It's signal can be heard clearly from Elizabethtown to Nashville. The Daily News Broadcast Company has been owned by the Gaines family and has remained at the same location, at the corner of College Street and 8th Avenue, since its inception.

Unless otherwise indicated, these policies apply to all contests initiated by WDNS/WKCT. Prizes must be picked up in person by the prize winner, with a valid ID, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at our offices at 804 College Street within 15 days of the time the prize was won. Movie or performance tickets are subject to show dates. You may win only one (1) prize per month (every 30 days). All entries become the property of WDNS/WKCT. Any judging decision is final. Employees of the Daily News Broadcasting or Publishing Companies, their immediate families, or employees of the contest sponsors are not eligible to win.
